Avery and her family came into my Chesterfield, VA studio to have her very first professional photo session at just 10 days old. Arriving from Short Pump, everyone was ready to go once they stepped into the studio. The first shots were of Avery and big sister Olivia. Olivia just loved her little sister and didn't mind holding her at all which made for some great sibling photos.

With this one being my personal favorite sibling shot. Olivia did come up with a lot of different expressions!

They were twinning in this one!

Next we did the family portion of the newborn session (I like to do these in the beginning if we have a toddler in tow, just in case we get too close to nap time).

Aren't they such a beautiful family! They chose beige as the color that they were all going to wear. I like to keep it monochromatic because I think it ties everyone together nicely and looks gorgeous. My suggestions for what to wear are either everyone in white, everyone in beige or everyone in black. If you're a fashionista and know how to coordinate then that's fine as well. BUT, if you're like me and never know what to wear just choose the simple monochromatic colors. :)

After completing family photos (including baby with just mom and baby with just dad) it's baby time! Avery was asleep for half and awake for the other half, not to worry, I love capturing newborns with their eyes open. Parents love it too! Sometimes I catch some funny faces like this one...

All in all it was a beautiful session and I was happy to provide these memories for the family to forever keep. I hope to see them again for baby's first year photos (popular ages are 6 months when they're sitting and 1 year) or mini sessions throughout the year.
